Oak Valley Hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient imaging services at the main hospital and outpatient services at the Oak Valley Imaging Center. At the main hospital, available procedures include conventional X-ray, CT scanning, fluoroscopy, magnetic resonance imaging scanning (more below), and ultrasonography. Mammography, as well as non-contrast X-ray studies, is provided at the Imaging Center. Routine hours of operation at the hospital are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and emergency imaging is available 24 hours a day. Our technologists are certificatied by state and federal agencies and the mammography unit has been FDA approved.  The Imaging Center hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Oak Valley Hospital and Alliance Imaging, Inc. are pleased to provide service to Oakdale and surrounding communities through one of the most advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems--the GE Signa 1.0T magnet--available today.

MRI is a revolutionary diagnostic technology that provides remarkably detailed pictures of the body without ionizing radiation. During this procedure the patient is placed within a large magnet and radio waves are passed through the body. These radio waves provide information about the part of the body to the computer and the computer then is able to display the images. Computer generated images clearly show healthy and diseased tissue in the brain, spine, joints and many other parts of the body.

The multi-million dollar 1.0 Telsa MRI unit at Oak Valley Hospital features the most recent advances in comprehensive diagnostic imaging. The system utilizes state-of-the-art technology and has advantages over lower strength magnets in that it has the potential of providing a series of excellent images in a short period of time, eventually allowing more patients access to the scanner's special capabilities. The system is considered non-invasive and it offers fewer risks than some diagnostic alternatives. In addition, it may lessen the need for lengthy hospital stays, therefore reducing health care costs.

The continual addition of equipment and services such as this MRI system at Oak Valley Hospital demonstrates our commitment to providing quality, convenient, and professional care to our patients.
