Oak Valley Hospital Foundation

Mission Statement

The Oak Valley Hospital Foundation was established in 1980 for the purpose of purchasing an ambulance for the hospital.  Since then the Foundation has grown and developed as an integral part of the community with wide support whose sole purpose is to secure voluntary donations to improve and enhance services for patients at Oak Valley Hospital.

The mission of the Foundation is to procure and extend financial aid toward the operation, maintenance, and modernization of facilities of Oak Valley Hospital.  The activities shall be broad in scope, and among other things, may include an endowment for medical research, the establishment of medical and paramedical scholarships, and the funding of programs, facilities or equipment to enhance the delivery of health services to the area.

Foundation Programs and Events

The Annual Gift Campaign.  Like other healthcare foundations, the Oak Valley Hospital Foundation solicits and secures annual gifts from donors to assist in the purchase of medical and diagnostic equipment for the hospital. Unless restricted by the donor, these gifts are allocated by the Board of the Foundation to meet specific equipment or program needs of the hospital.

Commemorative Gifts Program.  Gifts are always accepted to honor the memory of a family member or friend or to celebrate a special occasion. 

Spring Gala.  This traditional dinner and auction is scheduled annually the weekend after the Oakdale Rodeo in April.  To purchase Gala tickets and/or raffle tickets please click here.

Sid Haidlen Memorial Golf Classic.  Named in memory of longtime hospital friend and supporter, Sid Haidlen, this annual 18 hole tournament is scheduled annually in September.

The Tree of Life.  An annual tree lighting ceremony to honor the memory of loved ones or friends is conducted the first Monday of December.

The Capital Campaign.   In conjunction with the decision to build a new hospital, utilizing general obligation bonds, revenue bonds and hospital reserves, the Foundation Board accepted the challenge to secure $3 million in donor contributions to assist with new medical equipment and furnishings.   The campaign is ongoing while construction is underway with $2.2 million raised to date.

Planned Giving options.  The Foundation financial advisors can assist with establishing Charitable Remainder Trusts, Life Insurance Beneficiary designations, and transferring gifts of stocks, annuities, and real estate to meet donor desires in creating special legacies to the hospital and Foundation.  Please click on Ways to Give for more information.
